A personal note from Learnleather.com founder,
Michael Dale
I started learnleather.com for you, the aspiring leatherworker. Like you, I found my thirst for knowledge was far greater than the information I had available to me either on the web or through local sources. In 2013, I went to Sheridan Wyoming and had my eyes opened to a great community of like-minded people and amazing instructors.
Trade shows are the most amazing experiences for learning, networking and camaraderie, but not everyone can attend trade shows for a variety of reasons: They’re almost always far away from where you live. They are expensive. You may not be able to endure the travel or the expenses of attending these shows. You might be intimidated, like I was at first.
Because of the amazing experience I had, I wanted to bring quality instruction to you in the comfort of your own home. At Learnleather.com classes, you can relax. You can learn. You can ask questions.
Join us for a class and see what it’s all about.
This is such a fantastic opportunity for beginners, crafters and masters alike. I have many of the videos and watch them at least once a month. Thank you for making this possible for all of us.
Michael, you are quickly becoming a hero of mine. I’ve been doing leather work for a long time (off and on) and have always found it to be a tremendous source of satisfaction and even therapy. Your enthusiasm for it is inspirational. And that was all before you started LearnLeather.com.
Michael, each class I have taken with you and the guest instructor, has improved my skills in so many ways, many times not related to the specific class. What you really learn, the technique, why and how a specific tool or item is used, is sometimes hard to explain but is the value of these classes. It is almost like sitting across from the instructor and just having a conversation while you learn. Thank you for doing these and continuing to do more! James
